I'm in the process of making an orchestral template and just struggling to find the best way to go about this. Basically, I'm looking to place each instrument and its articulations on different tracks so they are preloaded and ready to use. Apr 08, 2011 Thanks for these files, but I have one question. I was able to get all the.sf2 files to work just fine, but I am having some trouble with the Orchestral Template v2.0.flp file. I can get it to load in FL 8, and once its loaded, I can see all the files in it, but when I try to play a file, there isn't any sound.

| garryknight wroteKind of. It's called Import Song Data. I appreciate that it's very close, you're right, t's still different. The downside to Import Session Data is that I have to know what song the 'template' I want to use was in. And the parts in a song, might have elements unique to the mix that might be different in a more generic template. I may just want a generic 'BFD Rock Kit' with all the inserts, sends, and bus routing in place, versus having to find a track where I used a similar drum sound and importing that in. Sometimes I may want to Import Song Data. Having used Cubase, which offers both types of options, each approach has their benefits and different use cases. So yeah, absolutely agree, 'kind of' track templates. But not really. I'd think now that this functionality exists, coding actual track templates would be much easier as another option. |

I really don't get why presonus doesn't just make track templates, i think they are the only daw without them. That's getting there, but the 'Studio One Way' (i.e. fast, efficient, intuitive workflow) of doing full-blown track templates should be as simple as: 1. Highlight tracks to select 2. Right+Click select 'Save as Track Template' Result: This saves any tracks, inputs/outputs, effects, routing, pans, volume, sends. Everything except the underlying audio or MIDI clip. Then when you want to use them.. 3. Right+click in project view to open menu 4. Select 'Add Track(s) from Template 5. Select Template Result: all the tracks, inputs/outputs, effects, routing, pans, volume, sends from the Track Templates get loaded. |

Yep, I'm sure it has and now that Import Song Data exists, I trust a more traditional/alternate track template approach would be a relatively easy add. I actually think the Import Song Data is one of the nicer new features, so definitely not knocking that addition! |
